Lesson Plan: Test knowledge of parts of temple & columns

There are several ways to do this. You may want to review the names of the parts of a temple and the 3 types of column first. Children can see temple diagrams and pictures of the three columns on my website.

1. Print the diagram of a temple with the labels missing and let the children write the names in the proper places. The answers are here.

2. There is a 'Name the Architectural Feature' game on the temple diagram page which children can play, although you may have to check they aren't clicking on the answers.

3. There is a 'Name the Column' game on the columns page the children can play, although again you may have to check they aren't clicking on the answers.

4. Point to a feature of a temple on a photo/drawing/the temple model and ask children to name the feature (or type of column).
